Step 2: Schedule Time to Complete Coursework

After you sign up, you have seven months to complete the course. Full-time students usually complete the course in less than two weeks (60 hours/14 days = 4 hours and 15 minutes per day). If you're juggling a full-time job and studying, it usually takes students about a month to complete the Maryland Real Estate Salesperson Prelicensing online course (60 hours/30 days = 2 hours per day). Each chapter in the course has a quiz at the end of the chapter that requires a passing score of at least 70% and you can retake the quizes as many times as needed in order to pass. At the end of the course, there is also a final exam at the end of the online course that requires a passing score of at least 70% which you can retake as many times as need. Congrats! You've completed the 60 hour Maryland Real Estate Salesperson Prelicensing course but there's still a little more work to be done.

Step 3: Schedule your exam with PSI

There is still one more exam to pass, taken at a PSI testing facility, before the state of Maryland will issue you a real estate salesperson licence. The exam consists of a national portion (80 questions) and Maryland portion (30 questions). After you complete the Maryland Real Estate Salesperson Prelicensing online course, you will receive a course completion certificate that you should mail to PSI, along with a check made out to PSI to cover the exam fee ($60). It usually takes PSI about a week to process your form and payment and input you into their online system. You will then be emailed information about how to log in to PSI's website where you can schedule a time to take your exam at your local testing facility.
